It’s a very strange painting. Normally, when a small painting depicts a scene with many participants, the artist tries to use the space 'efficiently'. In this particular case, three quarters of the painting are taken up with arches, holes, loops, and other architectural elements. Since the work was painted when the rules of linear perspective were fully understood, it does not represent the interior logically, depicting space from different angles that do not coalesce. When i used the b/w photography on the painting i totally felt myself seen - as a soft, senseful and hurdable adult beeing. In todays times, where loneliness becomes a severe issue with an impact of overall societies life - where a lot of people either get addicted to media - which is sort of un-real - and on the other hand feel lonely and cut off of our real destiny - being - cuddly, warm hearted, relaxed and wild - this image brought clearly back my conciouss level of daily life and need. Yes - i m a needy being. Yes - i can support others. No - i am not alone.
